Your adoption of an elephant means not only a second chance for these elephants, but also their first taste of life as a member of a herd. Thank you for joining our efforts to give them this gift of freedom, companionship, and health.
$30.00 will feed an elephant for one day and $390.00 will feed all 13 elephants for a day. You can donate any amount to the Feed for a Day Program.
For donations of $30 or more you will receive: a biography of the elephant(s) chosen which includes a 4 X 6 photo, a certificate and a subscription to ourTrunklines newsletter for one year.
Asian elephants are grazers (Africans are browsers). A full-grown Asian elephant eats approximately 150-200 pounds of food and drinks 30-50 gallons of water every day. Both Asian and African elephants will walk 30 to 50 miles daily in search of food, water, and preferred climate.
The Elephant Sanctuary makes every effort to raise a minimum of $185,000 as a restricted donation to be set aside, in perpetuity, as an endowment for each rescued elephant. We will invest the principal, and the income will be used to provide daily feed and medical care for that individual elephant. Click on Elephant Endowment Totals to see each Girl's special page illustrating how close we are to reaching her endowment goal.
When you make a gift "in honor" or "in memory" of someone, we will notify them at the address you entered in the fields at the top of the page.
