Hay is a part of each elephant's daily diet at The Sanctuary.  Shipments are received every 5-6 weeks.  We work to ensure the elephants receive the highest quality hay year-round.  Each load of hay is tested for nutritional value.  These deliveries allow us to get the best quality hay possible while reducing any waste due to sitting too long in our hay storage barns.  We use Timothy hay and occasionally, other types of hay.  With 9 elephants, it doesn't take long to go through a shipment!  This is a big expense for our Elephant Care Department.  All donations are greatly appreciated.
